Camping in the Nat'l Forest

Mom & Dad took me on the big adventure!

Went to a brown creek. 'Cept it wasn't brown at all.

 

Here I am, all decked out, nice and shiny with my top up.

I don't know what Mom & Dad want with that fire, I have a stove inside to cook their foods.

 

Mom snuck off and got a selfie of me.

 

Dad was nice and cozy inside.

What's he doing with those goofy eyes on?

Dad gave me my feets back.

 

They are shiny white!

 

They were icky but he cleaned them up

 

Dad said he wants my white walls to show.

I don't know what white walls are.

I have walls around me and my tops are white

so maybe that's what dad means too?

 

Mom noticed there are a couple scratches on my white feets from the 'chine that put the tires on.

 

Dad says that can be fixed.

Dad got this rough white stuff out today and cleaned my feets.

 

They were all yucky and dirty and Dad said Rusty.

I don't know who Rusty is but he needs to stay off my feets.

 

But Dad got all the other old white and Rusty off.

 

And then Dad put more white on my feets.

They are starting to look dandy.

Hello?

I've been stuck in this new cave all winter and finally today I heard moms voice, asking if we can go for an adventure next weekend.

I'm game!

Jane came again today

But Mom sent her back home with my wrap. They stood outside talking, looking at it and touching it all over. Jane said shes got concerns about the holes needed in it for my screws that hold it in place. So they decided Jane would take it home and do some more work on it and bring it back later.

 

I saw some of the wrap and it looks marvelous! Its all new and pretty.

 

That's OK, Mom and Dad don't have time for working on me right now anyway, they are working on a camper port for me to spend the cold wintertime under, not getting rained on.

I'll be under one side and Miata will be under the other side.

Mom got word today...

...that my new wrapper is coming home tomorrow! Jane will bring it here for me at 4pm.

Jane Was Here!

Jane was here again today and Mom gave her the new vinyl to make me a new wrapper. I'm so excited, just can't wait for my top to be done.

Mom said don't hold my breath, she might not even get it onto me till next spring.

 

There is off white vinyl for the outer wrapper, clear for the windows and screen stuff to keep the bugs out. I do not like bugs.



Wrapper Stuff

Mom & dad went shopping for new wrapper stuff for me. This is what they got.

 Mom said it was an adventure and she had to do a lot of those to get this stuff.

 

Mom & dad went to Joanne's and Joanne didn't have white or off white marine vinyl.

I don't know why they want to be off the white.

And why do they want marine? I'm not a boat.

 

But marine white is what they got.

 

Along with clear vinyl for my top eyes.

And screen. And Velcro.

 

And mom is going to use some of the clear vinyl to

' Mickey Mouse '

the window in that little brat, Miata.

 

Mom has been having toooo much fun in Miata all summer.

 

Anyway, Jane is going to make my new wrap, just like she made my awesome guts. I can't wait.

 

 

Fiberglass

Dad got one of my new boards all fiberglassed in.

That makes me a very happy camper.

Dad has been working on my seat benches, getting rid of some dry rot and replacing with some fresh wood.

He used a cutter thingy to tickle the heck out of me,

I was giggling and giggling!

 

He made Mom hold my vinyl and she was scared he was going to cut her fingers off.

 

There was icky smells in the air and stuff flying all over.

 

 

There, that nasty stuff is out of me, finally.

 

The black pipe goes from my water intake to my storage tank.

They are pretty dirty from me sitting around for so long so Dad needs to take it out and clean it.

 

Mom took my guts out again

 

SIGH

 

and sprayed them with Scotchgard to help keep them clean.

 

 

Then she took them into the cave and gave them to Mus Tang!

He's already got nice guts, why does he get mine too?

 

 

But Mom said its so that Dad doesn't get that icky fiberglass stuff on them.

 

Dad is so silly sometimes!

My Guts Are Here!

They're here, they're here!

My guts have been finished and they are finally here.

Me & Mom have been waiting patiently for today.

 

This is Jane, she made them for me.

 

This is Sarah and she approves of them!

 

Here is Mom, she's a happy camper.

 

Here is a visitor I had today while waiting for my guts to get here.

Her name is Rosie.

 

And her husband, RobRoy.

He makes a lot of noise so when Mom & Dad take me on an adventure

I hope they leave him at home so we can sleep in.

 

Last week when Mom was out at the lake, Windy gave her this darling little pin.

Mom LOVES it.

 

She loves it so much that she got a tee shirt that says the same thing!!

Wrapper Work

I watched Mom giving my wrapper a bath in the afternoon sunshine today. It was awful dirty and it took her a long time to get it clean; I know its not all going to be spotless but it sure looks a lot nicer now.

Mom was talking to Dad about my up eyes, they need new lids. Mom said she will glue on new screen and maybe use magnets for the plastic eye lids.

Hhhmmm...

I wonder how that would work.

 

Back Eyes

Dad worked on my back eyes and they are bright & shiny now. Here's what he did.

 

These are what I had all my life.

 

The new back eyes are LED. Dad wanted to make them fit me, not ADD them to me.

So he took them apart.

 

He took their eye lids off and took out their guts.

 

After grinding some extra stuff off them he said they were good.

 

This is that my guts used to look like.

 

And my eye lids; they were old and hazy.

 

Dad buffed them all up shiny!

 

Then he used this sticky stuff to put my new eye guts in the old eye lids.

 

LOOK, aren't they nice and brilliant now?!?!

 

Dad shined up these ones too, can you see a difference here between the left and right?

 

They area all bright and shiny now but without the blue car hooking up to me Mom can't get a picture. Dang.

 

In other news, Jane sent Mom a message, she's working on my guts and it all seems to be going well. No pictures yet.

I Met Jane Today

Today I had visitors inside me, Mom brought Jane and Anna inside. Jane is going to sew my guts for me, yay!!  She and mom agreed on $30 per cushion and that's extremely reasonable.

 

When mom & dad bought the material for my guts they didn't know it would PERFECTLY match my cooker top and ice box door. How lucky I am.

 

Mom said 'Don't look at the rust, we haven't gotten that far yet'.

 

She laid out one roll of material so she could see how I'd look and this is going to be awesome. So excited for new guts.

Velcro

Mom ordered Velcro for my guts and it got here today.

It was supposed to be tan but this is white. Mom thinks this should be OK and isn't too worried.

Yard Sale

Mom went to a yard sale today.

What's a yard? Isn't that where those big birds live, in our yard? Did mom buy a yard?

So anyways, Mom bought a table. A cute little green one that comes apart and folds up inside itself then you put it back and becomes a pic-a-nick table. It weighs a ton so it should be sturdy, right?

And she got a Dutch oven kind of pan for boiling water over the fire. I hope she's not going to burn me.

But she hasn't spent any time inside me for a very long time.

New Flooring

Mom & Dad went to the Home Depot box store today and got new floor cover for me.

 

Its called TrafficMaster Vinyl Planks and the color is called

 

Old Hickory Nutmeg

 

Mom likes the feel of it, not perfectly flat like other kinds of vinyl.  Mom said it looks like fake wood and Dad says it should be easy to put in. He said it snaps together and doesn't need to be glued. They can put it right over the old green stuff I've already got inside me.

 

 

They had to buy 2 boxes of it even though they will only need to use a couple planks out of the second box.

 

If I look like this when its all inside me then I will feel like a million bucks.

 

Even though Mom & Dad only spent about $95.00 on it.

 

Mom says I'm worth about $1,500 now.
