Lid

The weather has cooled off about 10 degrees so its not too hot for Mom to work on me and today Dad decided to help too. Mom climbed above my head and started brushing junk off me but there was lots and I wasn't coming very clean.

 

 

The dirt and needles are from where I used to live.

 

My lid was so dirty that Mom decided to take my whole vinyl wrap off me.

See the screws sticking out? She had a bunch of those to remove, most of them in the icky dirt.

 

My lid is still pretty dirty, it just doesn't want to wipe clean.

This all folds down when we are Zooming down the road.

 

All my screws are rusty so Mom is going to get me new ones, they will be bright and shiny!

Look how dirty my lid is; Grandma couldn't reach this last year when she massaged me so I'm still pretty icky.

 

It took a while but Mom got most of my screws out. Dad had to do some of them cuz they were stucked.

 

I watched from inside as Dad helped Mom.

 

It felt tickly when my vinyl wrap started coming off.

 

I feel so free !

 

 

 

But wait... 

Mom found my magic wand!

I've been keeping it secret for a very long time.

 

Ah, all my vinyl is unhooked from my lid.

I'm still very dirty but Mom can now clean me without it just going onto the vinyl and hiding in it.

 

 She is going to clean my wrap and try to replace my eyes.

Then I will be able to see better.

 

Dad helped Mom remove my lid all the way off.

Dad showed Mom how to use all these bottles of stuff to massage me really well and make me shine,

so if its nice enough tomorrow I might have a nice clean lid to show off.

 

But for tonight I don't want to get rained in so Dad and Mom put my lid back on. I feel almost complete.

 

Mom really needs to get this mildew outta me!

 

Dad started looking at my seats and found the dry rot Mom told him about last summer.

 

 

Its real icky.

 

He's going to have his work cut out for him.

 

At least now he believes her.

 

Mom wants to get rid of all these guts and start over. I don't know how I feel about that.

We're just waiting here patiently for my guts to arrive...

 

I Got Rained On

In the late darkness there was suddenly flashes of light and Booms!

 

Thunder & lightening and even some hail. It was really warm though so I felt like I was getting a bath.

 

Mom forgot to close my lid but I didn't leak. She was happy about that.

 

Today Jane came back and took my guts, she said they will be finished in a week or so.

I'm excited.

Mom is even more excited than me.

I Met Jane Today

Today I had visitors inside me, Mom brought Jane and Anna inside. Jane is going to sew my guts for me, yay!!  She and mom agreed on $30 per cushion and that's extremely reasonable.

 

When mom & dad bought the material for my guts they didn't know it would PERFECTLY match my cooker top and ice box door. How lucky I am.

 

Mom said 'Don't look at the rust, we haven't gotten that far yet'.

 

She laid out one roll of material so she could see how I'd look and this is going to be awesome. So excited for new guts.

My Lid Is Open

Mom came to visit me outside in the sunshine today.

 

Before she stepped up inside, Dad brought my bricks so my hind end wouldn't go down to the ground. Mom had that happen a couple weeks ago and it startled her.

 

See my BROKEN back light? Mom was NOT happy about that. Dad spent lots of 'MooLa' on those and he broke it when he put me in the cave. Then he didn't tell Mom and now he says he is taking them off anyway. Mom is mad because she never wanted me to have them in the first place and Dad insisted he needed to drill holes in my butt.

 

 

She had to unwrap the springy ropey thingy from my opener because my opener doesn't always work. Mom says she doesn't want Dave visiting again.

 

I don't know what Dave is.

 

 

 

She stepped inside me and said 'Ewww, you stink.'

I guess she needs to get to cleaning again, there is still mildew inside me.

 

 

My top is still not clean. Honestly, a lot of me is not clean.

She has a lot of work to do to make me shine.

 

Dad helped Mom put up my lid and then I cooled down a little inside. It was hot outside today,

I was sweating bullets.

 

My lid is icky underneath. Mom said she needs to get rid of all these needles and dirt.

 

I want her to fix my top eyes so they are clean and don't let bugs inside.

Sunshine

It's so nice to be outside again in the fresh air & sunshine.

 

Mom said she has been busy so she hasn't even been inside to visit. I'm lonely and sad.

 

but she has spoken to a gal who will work on my guts so we can all go camping soon.

 

That makes me very happy!
